I’m trying to merge my schedule, peak fall color, and the weather report to find the best day to head up to Williamsburg and the Colonial Parkway to shoot some fall color. Tomorrow’s out, as I have two meetings and there’s a 90% chance of rain. Friday through Monday, however, with forecasted temps in the low 60’s and partly cloudy-to-sunny skies, looks promising.
It’s fall! I want to see fall color!
I’m thinking about heading up towards DC later this week. It might actually look (and feel) like fall up there.
As always, comments are welcome. I’d like to know that someone, somewhere, is actually reading my posts.
Tomorrow is the annual Cooper Vineyards MINI Rally. (Seriously, where else would we go?)
It’s a big MINI event, if you’ll pardon the pun. Four clubs participate: Hampton Roads (mine), the two in Richmond, and one from DC. The drive is what we call “spirited” — all hills and twistees. It’s a little hard on my left leg because I drive a stick, but it’s a blast!
The rally is always fun. Good food and entertainment, and a great place to connect with friends I haven’t seen in a while. And there’s a bonus, at least for me: it’s about half way to IKEA!
All in all, a great MINI day. I wouldn’t miss it for anything!
Except I may not be able to go. If I have trouble sleeping or wake up with a migraine… no twistees for me. It’s also going to be in the 90’s, and I doubt they’ll reschedule for the heat. If I go, I’ll post photos.
Comments are below; please use them. I’d like to think that someone is reading this.
BTW, that’s my BumbleBee in the middle. They no longer let me back into spaces.
In an effort to reach more customers, I’ve decided to add smaller images to the shop. I’ve created a new section, Under $20 USD, for the 5×7’s. To ensure the images are the best they can be given the smaller size, I’m “re-mastering” everything. It takes a while, but I’m a perfectionist, so it has to be done. A fun Labor Day weekend is in my immediate future, I fear.
As always, comments are welcome.
I received permission to stay in the MINI at the car wash, and this is the result. It was shot on my iPhone and processed on the iPad. Please ask questions, leave praise, or throw virtual rotten tomatoes at me via the comments, below.
I went back to the Dismal Swamp State Park this afternoon to try out the D7100. It had been raining on and off all day and looked like it might start up again any minute, so I had to work fast. I captured over 60 images in twenty minutes.
I don’t know why I was so worried about upgrading to a new camera – I’m very pleased with the amount of detail the D7100 records. It reminds me of the difference between a 35mm negative and medium format roll film.
I’ve worked on six images so far, and I’m happy with all of them. Some will make it into the shop as new images. Some may replace similar images made with the old camera. Normally I wouldn’t do that, but the detail is so good with the new camera that I may just have to.
I just had my second sale on Etsy!
Am I excited? YES! Am I satisfied? NO!
I keep telling myself that with enough hard work, I may be able to pay a few bills with the shop one day. With that in mind, here’s looking forward to my third sale!
